Official “Rules”

Sign-ups are in person and begin at least one hour before the show. The show starts at 8PM. A number of Lottery Slots are available. Anyone that doesn't get on the 8PM show will be able to do the regular Open Mic at 930PM. Comics get in FREE. Comics will be given 3 minutes of stage time. More time is awarded based on performance and/or other circumstances. The “Briefcase of Destiny” holds random topics that comics may riff on and in some cases this may extend your stage time. Directly after your set, you will join us on the talk show for a short interview. Comics may be subject to distractions and derailment at any moment. This show will feature the highest production value we have had at Shark's Comedy Club so far. 

Swimming with Sharks is not your typical stand-up comedy showcase…

Talented and experienced comedians share the stage with first-timers and open-mic’ers in a late-night talk show-meets-podcast setting. The show is hosted by entertainer Noah “Shark” Robertson and features Greasy Gordo along with a rotating cast of co-hosts, featured guests, strange characters, and more! “One of Dallas’ Best Open Mic Nights” – Dallas Observer

The purpose of this showcase (besides pure entertainment, of course) is to test comedians and give them a chance to experience something new and unexpected; an opportunity to be in the moment, try their patience, adapt on the fly, and improvise. It’s sink or swim! Anything can happen at a Swimming with Sharks Comedy Showcase! The show often features interviews, game show antics, insane distractions, video enhancement, costumed characters, sketches, and more!

SWS welcomes new comics and we provide a welcoming and encouraging environment. Many comics in the DFW area got their start on our stage! SWS is also proud to provide a platform for artists and creators to voice their opinions, explore taboo subjects, and riff on anything that comes to mind; helping to keep freedom of speech alive! SWS welcomes any and all entertainers and comedians of all experience levels and we do not discriminate based on race, religion, sex, or anything else. SWS does not condone hate speech.

The first OFFICIAL SWIMMING WITH SHARKS COMEDY SHOWCASE started in Nipomo, California at Old Town Brew and has since been featured at Dallas Comedy Club, Deep Ellum Brewing Company, Cheapsteaks, Shark’s Comedy Club, Wit’s End, Reno’s Chop Shop, Will Call Bar, Vaska Theater, Haltom Theater, Canucks and more.

For fans of Kill Tony, Death Squad, Legion of Skanks, The Eric Andre Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Don Barris’ The Ding Dong Show, Tom Green, Showtime at the Apollo, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, and The Gong Show.

This show will be recorded on stage in front of a live audience.
